Janet[sp.Janette on birth cert'] spent time as a young girl, as a Scottish Troop dancers, along with her brother John. She later married Christopher Atherton. They raised a family, and were married years, when Chris died. In 1998, Janet celebrated her 100th birthday. This year it will be 102. children: Evelyn Betty Christopher Janet At first, she was a bit overwhelmed and cried....then she lightened up, and started greeting everyone. Her grd.son Donn made a nice speech, grd.d-inlaw,Frances, did a Scottish dance, grt.grd.son Mark could't make, but grt.gr.son Ian played the bagpipes for his grt.gr.mother. Janet at one point, stood and thanked everyone then said, "if my eyes weren't so bad, I'd show you all how to dance." One cute piont at the party....now remember, it was a 100th B-day party, so the drinks were: soft drinks, coffe and tea...someone asked Aunt Janet what she wanted to drink.... she thought for minute, then said, "oh, I don't know, just bring me a beer." Well, I guess we should start planning her 103rd next Sept. |
