This history is very brief...I found out last night from Bill in TX. that Samuel Harrison Bowen's son, Samuel H., may have stayed in GA. So we'll have to keep searching for records.
All we know for sure is, that our Samuel Harrison Bowen was in Marion Co.AL. by 1881, still there 1893. His children there in 1917.

He resided in the Pearce Mill and Brilliant/Gold Mine area.
He was a clerk, school teacher, taught penmanship classes and served as a Justice of the Peace.

Samuel married Sarah Elizabeth Gibbs abt.1885

Children: Sterling, Dona, Rachel & Vester.

Sam had a brother Arch S. that marr. Odella Gibbs

and Grant Bowen marr. Lulu [Grant poss.bro.or father ???]

Samuel was born 18855 died 1910 and buried at Mt.Joy Cem.
in Marion Co.AL.
